The great outback

This is it! With a brand new battery, a new air filter, new engine oil, lots of food and almost 50 liters of water, we started our great journey from Adelaide to Darwin yesterday. That's 3000 kilometers of straight line through the desert. Which is not so desert like this year with all the rainfall since last year, there's green sprouts popping up everywhere! But it is SCORCHING hot, and we're drinking water all day long.

We're currently stopped in Cooper Pedy. The Opal mining capital of the world apparently and the stage for the filming of Mad Max (for all you fans out there...)

We should reach Uluru (also known as Ayer's Rock) by tomorrow afternoon.
